The National Gallery

The National Gallery, London houses one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world. Located centrally in Trafalgar Square and with 5.92 million visits a year, it is in the top 10 most popular art museums globally. Founded in 1824, the collection has over 2,300 paintings and represents 700 years of European art, from the artists of late medieval and Renaissance Italy to the French Impressionists.
