Domo-kun

Domo was born in December 1998 as a commemorative character for the 10th anniversary of NHK-BS (the satellite channel of Japan’s public broadcaster), and became a character for NHK in 2004. With its unique looking and world-view, Domo has many passionate fans all over the world. Story of Domo： Somewhere in Japan, in a cave surrounded by mountains, prairies and rivers, lives an old rabbit called Mr. Usaji. One snowy day, a big egg rolled down into his cave and a strange brown creature hatched from it. The first thing the creature saw was the news anchor saying "Domo (hello)" on TV and immediately learned the word. Since that day, everyone calls him Domo. Curious about everything, Domo gets excited and is thrilled every day... and of course, disappointed sometimes. Together with his buddies, Domo experiences new adventures.
